Team building and communication.

On this hands on Friday we focused on working as a team and using positive communication
We were given the task of building a tower made of cups using only a piece of string and a rubber band. Some teams found it really hard to work together and others worked really well. After a discussion we realised that it made it easier if only one person was giving directions and the others were listening and working together. We also learnt that the person giving the instructions had to be very clear and confident and also use positive words.

    1. Hi Sophie,thank- you for your comment. To make the cup stack, we tied pieces of string to the rubber band, then each person in the group held a piece of string. We used the string to stretch out the rubber band to fit over the cup and let it go to tighten the rubber band and lift it up. Does this answer your question?

  3. Hi Kereru Whanau,

Thanks for your update. Some excellent towers and we can see how you made them. We were wondering if the top photo was the winning team? We must apologise for the anonymous blogs as some of our students don't yet have blog accounts. We're are getting closer though.
